David Koch.

Channel 7 Media Personality and Small Business Expert.

David Koch has one of the most recognisable faces in Australia. The long-time host of the Channel Seven breakfast television program ‘Sunrise’, ‘Kochie’ began his professional career as a financial journalist after training as an accountant.

The 62-year-old’s fame has grown through his television career, allowing him to fulfill a version of his boyhood dream of playing for the Port Adelaide Football Club by becoming the club’s number one ticket-holder in 2007 and Club President in 2012, a position he still holds.

Kochie began his career writing for The Australian and BRW before the entrepreneur in him led him to create his own publication, Personal Investment Magazine, and launch it in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. He was the youngest editor in Fairfax Media group, with whom he launched trade publishing group Australian Financial Press in a joint venture in 1988.

A long-time small business owner with his wife Libby, and a Director of the NSW Small Business Development Corporation Ltd for eight years after its inception in 1996, Kochie founded Kochie’s Business Builders in order to support small business owners with simple, easy to apply information, tools and resources, and help them succeed in both their business and their relationships.

He was named 2007 Australian Father of the Year by the Australian Father’s Day Council, and was Chairman of the ‘Organ and Tissue Authority Advisory Council, a body he influenced the Federal Government to form.

Australians have been waking up with Kochie for over 15 consecutive years, as the co-host of Australia’s number one breakfast television program, Seven Network’s Sunrise. His position in the breakfast chair started as a temporary one, however his unique, opinionated style of presenting resonated with viewers and he has continued to hold the position for over 15 years now. Within 18 months of Kochie commencing as co-host, the show saw viewer ratings grow to Sunrise becoming the leading breakfast show in Australia.

A man with connections and influence in the highest of places and across the business world, he has plenty of stories to tell and lessons to share. The AADA carsales Luncheon is sure to be a highlight of the 2018 Convention.
