Ahead of the release of the ACCC’s New Car Retailing Industry market study in late 2017, join ACCC Chairman Rod Sims as he discusses ‘Advocacy and the Regulator’.
In this must-see presentation, Mr Sims will discuss the ACCC’s year-long study investigating the competitiveness of the Australian retail car industry, including the impact of competition on the profitability and business models of car Dealers from retail sales, to servicing and the supply of spare parts.
Mr Sims was appointed Chairman of the ACCC in August 2011 for a five-year term and reappointed for a further three years in August 2016.
Prior to his ACCC appointment, Mr Sims’ roles included being Chairman of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of NSW and Commissioner on the National Competition Council. Mr Sims was also a Director of Port Jackson Partners Limited where he advised the CEOs and boards on commercial corporate strategy.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Mr Sims worked as a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Transport and Communications.
