Jim Wu

Jim Wu is an automotive entrepreneur with deep experience across Chinese electric vehicles, automotive retail and right-hand drive market development.

A veteran of the automotive industry, Jim has held senior leadership roles across vehicle sales, marketing, strategy and distribution, with experience spanning joint-venture automotive brands, insurance and new energy vehicle businesses.

After senior roles in the Chinese automotive sector, including leadership experience with Leapmotor, Jim has turned his focus to the Australian market and the international expansion of Chinese electric vehicles. His work is centred on helping new energy vehicle brands understand local market requirements, build retail capability and connect with Australian customers.

Jim has also been involved in the development of Greentech Electric Vehicle in Australia, with a focus on Chinese EV distribution, multi-brand dealership operations, charging infrastructure and home energy storage solutions.

With Australia emerging as a key right-hand drive market for Chinese electric vehicles, Jim brings a valuable perspective on EV adoption, brand localisation, customer expectations and the opportunities and challenges facing new automotive brands entering Australia.

As a AADA 2026 Workshop Series Presenter, Jim brings a global EV and Chinese automotive market perspective to the AutoYou workshop, adding insight into how emerging brands, electrification and changing customer behaviour are reshaping dealership retail.
