Hear from QBE’s Cyber Lead, Ben Richardson, as he explores the growing impact of cyber risk on the automotive industry. Drawing on real world threat intelligence, notable cyber incidents, and evolving regulatory expectations, Ben will outline how cyber threats are increasingly affecting automotive manufacturers and dealerships of all sizes.
The presentation will include a practical case study of the 2025 cyber-attack on Jaguar Land Rover UK, demonstrating how even large, well-known brands can be vulnerable. Ben will also examine the current threat environment facing Australian motor dealers, both large and small, including risks to email systems, customer data, third party digital supply chains, inventory, and logistics.
The session will focus on practical and actionable steps dealers can take to better protect customer information and maintain business continuity as the industry continues to digitise.
Ben will also provide a clear introduction to cyber insurance, including how cyber risk is assessed, and the controls insurers place greatest emphasis on when underwriting cyber risk.
