When we gather in Brisbane in June for “AADA 2022 Future Focused” it will be two years since our industry has come together in person.

Last year’s online event was a great success, with many learnings we’ll use to live stream this year’s Convention and make it available on-demand, but after all the social isolation and lockdowns we’ve endured thanks to COVID-19, we’re looking forward to getting together in the real world.

AADA Conventions are highly social, but it is a business event, and we think this year’s program is the best yet. We have our largest-ever number of international speakers, and our workshops, speakers and Expo will comprehensively cater for every aspect of dealership operations.

Join James throughout our AADA 2022 Program as he hosts the industry panel, Your AADA At Work, in addition to delivering the AADA CEO Opening and Closing Statements.

AADA Closing Session: Electric Vehicles, Dealers and Australia: The Big Picture

AADA Central

The shift to electric vehicles (EVs) is picking up pace, which will only increase the closer we get to 2030. Yet demand for EVs in Australia is not as high as in many other countries, hampered by high upfront cost, range anxiety, long recharging times and lack of consumer choice.

In this feature panel session, speakers from key industry sectors come together to discuss the many challenges to embracing EVs, such as infrastructure, taxation, government policy, consumer sentiment and the need to increase choice, through supply, within the Australian market.

AADA CEO James Voortman will host the panel featuring OEM representatives and Auto Industry experts to discuss the future of the EV market in Australia and the need for implementation of successful, relevant government policy to drive a sustainable EV roadmap.

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

AADA General Session: AADA Opening Statement

AADA Central

Throughout the last two years of massive upheaval and the COVID-19 disruption that was 2020/21, AADA has continued to represent and advocate for Franchised New Car Dealers on a range of issues.

AADA CEO James Voortman will deliver the AADA Opening Statement reporting on the work that AADA has completed on behalf of new car franchised dealers over the past year, including the Honda Dealer reduction, Senate inquiries into Holden and the franchising code, that saw our lawmakers finally understand why our industry needs its own standalone code of conduct. James will also detail other aspects of AADA’s ongoing policy challenges in the year ahead.
