The Australian Small Business andFamily Enterprise Ombudsman
Bruce Billson has enjoyed a long and successful career in public service. He’s worked in local government, as an advisor to the Victorian Government, and 20 years as a Member of Federal Parliament.
He spent time as Minister for Small Business, and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, before he retired from politics at the 2016 election.
He then worked as executive chairman of the Franchise Council of Australia before becoming the Ombudsman in March 2021.
As Ombudsman his role is to support the small businesses and family enterprises of Australia. This includes matters such as dispute resolution, advocating for small businesses and family enterprises regarding the challenges they face, and working with government to develop policies and programs designed to support them.
